Clan Kidz 2007

The CLAN Kidz theme and ‘HEART’ Sessions, when we all gather in our main tent for worship and teaching before going back to our group tents, are a work in progress and as we get further into the year more ideas will be generated and added to the programme. Below is an outline of the programme with some of the ideas that have already been mooted. Below that is a list of ideas generated at the first Tent Leaders’ evening, for both the HEART sessions, and use in group tents. If you have an idea that may fit then please use the comments section below to leave it, and we’ll add it to the main list in due course.

The Cross: The theme for CLAN Gathering this year is The Cross, and we will be mirroring that theme in the CLAN Kidz programme. The morning sessions will focus on facts, based around the WWW system of who-what-where-why questions, and will look at various aspects of the Cross as well as our mission to the World. The evening sessions will be geared towards ministry, using symbolic acts to help the children respond to their Heavenly Father, and will look at how the Jesus’ victory on the Cross has helped us overcome areas of hurt and difficulty in our lives.

• Saturday PM – Journey to the Heart of the Gospel

• Main Point – Jesus explains his mission to Nicodemus 

• Sunday AM – Crucifixion
• Key Scripture – John 19:17-37

• Drama Idea – scene modelling

• Sunday PM – Jesus: victor over Satan

• Main Point – Jesus mission bridges the gap that Satan caused between God and his people

• Symbolic Act: Bridge Building

• Monday AM – Resurrection

• Key Scripture – John 11:25

• Drama Idea – Meeting Mary

• Monday PM – Jesus: victor over death

• Main Point – Jesus mission brings us eternal life, to enjoy in God’s presence

• Symbolic Act: ????

• Tuesday AM – Obedience

• Key Scripture – Luke 22:39-46

• Drama Idea – Jonah

• Tuesday PM – Jesus: victor over selfishness

• Main Point – Jesus mission means that we don’t live for ourselves, but serve others

• Symbolic Act: Foot Washing??(Philippinas 2/John 13)

• Wednesday AM – Salvation

• Key Scripture – John 3:16

• Drama Idea – ?????

• Wednesday PM – Jesus: victor over sin

• Main Point: Jesus mission means that we can cross over the bridge he built between us and our Father

• Symbolic Act: Crossing the Bridge/smashing tiles on which we write those things which keep us from God

• Thursday AM – Spirit

• Key Scripture -  John 14:15-31

• Drama Idea – ????

• Thursday PM – Jesus: victor over brokenness

• Main Point: Jesus mission means that even when we feel we have nothing to offer him, he rebuilds us into something new so we can serve him.

• Symbolic Act: making Crosses out of the pieces of broken tiles

• Friday AM – Go!

• Key Scripture – Matthew 28:18-20

• Drama Idea – ?????

• Friday PM – Praise and Prayer

• Main Point – a night of worship and prayer to encourage and strengthen the children as they return home.

Extra Ideas – for the HEART and Group Tents…. 

• Bridging Gaps – crossing an assault course or using stepping stones….
• Visit the Glasgow Science Centre to get ideas….
• Obedience – Dog training, Simon Says, Army Drills….
• Quiet Corners – prayer trees, rainbows and butterflies for answered prayers….
• Signing – signing workshop, signing the chorus for the CLAN Kidz theme song….
• CD – worship band to provide a CD of songs used so that team members can learn them in advance….
• Using groups of people to make shapes relevant to the theme, so pictures/video can be taken from above (like the Talk Talk Adverts….)
• A ‘Game Show’ with comic hosts to introduce ice breakers into each session…..
